NEVER STOP LEARNING

One of my mantras in life is โ€œ๐—ก๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฝ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด.โ€ ๐Ÿ™

I was ZOOMING in my teacherโ€™s workshop in Hong Kong, and he said,

โ€œ๐˜ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏโ€™๐˜ต ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ๐˜บ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ. ๐˜๐˜ง ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ฌ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ๐˜บ, ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜บ ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ? ๐˜ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ค๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฃ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ด ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ.โ€

It makes me think about how I see myself as a teacher and as a student.

It does not matter to me if a student can roll themselves up like sushi in Kapotasana; or another student who comes to me to build basic mobility and flexibility.

My focus is the same โ€“ ๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—”๐—ฅ๐—ก๐—œ๐—ก๐—š. ๐Ÿ™Œ

I have both types of students.

What I care about is their willingness to learn and improve.

They come with an intention and attitude toward learning. ๐Ÿ˜Š

One may want to learn how to backbend without just using the lower back; the other may want to learn how to align their body in basic poses.

Yes, I have students who โ€œlookโ€ advanced with their practice, to students who are raw beginners; I have students of all ages, from their 20s to 70s.

My focus is the same.

LEARNING.

And as for me, I am currently trying to โ€œteachโ€ my thigh bone to internally rotate, learning how to tilt my sternum bone in backbends, how to straighten (meaning micro bend) my elbows, and how to lift my inner ankle. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™‚

Haha. Yea.
