Celebrate your Victories 🏆

So much I hear students said:

😔 “I can only hold Bakasana for a few seconds’.

😔 “I still feel so stiff in my shoulders in Urdhva Dhanurasana”.

What they forgot is they have gone from 1-second hold to 5 seconds hold, or they weren’t even able to push up to Wheel a few months ago!

𝗪𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴.

I have been returning to teaching since April and I cannot tell you how much progress I have seen in MANY OF YOU and I want you to acknowledge that, and to appreciate your effort and commitment, and CELEBRATE YOUR WINS. 👏👏👏

What are your physical wins?

𝘕𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘵, 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦.

Even an extra second, and extra inch, take a moment to reflect on the positive feeling of success in your body and be proud of yourself.

Focus on how your body feels.

Instead of thinking about poses, think about how you feel about your body.

Maybe your shoulders are feeling stronger; your lower back is having less stress in your backbends. Or that you can regulate your breath better in a vinyasa class.

I am here to celebrate your wins with you. 🥳

All the standing poses that you have refined your alignments in, all the skills and techniques you have learned the arm balances, backbends, and inversions.

Now you just have to trust that your body has embodied the practice from your 𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗢 𝗜𝗧. 👊

We will work on further refinements and taking the poses beyond.

December, let’s wrap up the year strong by integrating everything together. 💪
