Day 5 of #PURE5Pillars: Specialized (Space) โ any inversion/pose with props
Upside down is the opposite of what we normally do. ๐
Habits, routines, consistency, and repetitions can be beneficial, but if we assume what we are experiencing now is the same as before, it can become boring and mundane.
We can GO THROUGH the MOTIONS instead of REALLY LIVING.
Inversions turn our world upside down. ๐
We donโt HAVE to go upside down, but if youโve ever experienced going inverted, it is an exciting experience. It takes you OUT of your comfort zone, allowing you to see the world differently.
One of the key lessons in yoga is to
Impermanence is the only thing that is permanent. ๐ฏ
The world is always changing, and there is always something new to learn.
Things become more interesting when we can train our minds to always see the world through a new lens. We feel more alive, more attentive, and more open to surprises and discoveries. ๐ค
Inversions on the yoga mat are great, but I love teaching them on the aerial hammock.
It allows almost anyone to go upside down, regardless of their ability or experience with yoga. Itโs exhilarating and empowering.
Over the years, Iโve probably helped hundreds of people for the first time, from 3 years old to 60 years old.
Yoga is about more than just opening the body; itโs about ๐ข๐ฃ๐๐ก๐๐ก๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ฅ ๐ ๐๐ก๐ to something we didnโt think we could do. โจ
Remember that we must continue to unlearn and relearn. There is no end to a beginnerโs mind. ๐
