STEADINESS

This summer, I was practicing at this little studio in Palo Alto, California. And this teacher would put us in a pose, and challenge us to go to a point where our bodies started to get unstable.

I found that interesting. ๐Ÿค”

We so often speak and focus on building stability and control in our yoga postures.

I certainly found myself doing that.

I donโ€™t want to go to a point where I feel unstable.

I donโ€™t want to acknowledge I lose control.

I donโ€™t want to let people see that I am shaking as that is showing my โ€œweaknessโ€.

What ifโ€ฆ.

When we think we need to have to be still to get a perfect balance, maybe what we need is to deliberately find that shake, that edge, that imbalance in order to move forward and progress. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Being in equilibrium breeds comfort.

Feeling off balance leads to growth.

Sometime in your practice this week, embrace that shake, that discomfort โ€“ thatโ€™s how we grow. โœจ
