Teacherโ€™s Practice

How important is a Teachersโ€™ Practice? ๐Ÿค”

A ๐—ง๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€โ€™ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ is a practice for yoga teachers to practice together.

I donโ€™t think I have to emphasize the importance of keeping a consistent practice as a yoga teacher.

Normally, our choices are:

1๏ธโƒฃ Go to class 2๏ธโƒฃ Self-practice

But is that enough?

I attend class, but Iโ€™ll be honest. As much as I want to focus on my own practice on the mat and disregard all the students around me, I sometimes still feel the pressure, or feel that

And Iโ€™ve heard students complain about feeling โ€œ๐˜ฑ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ด๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅโ€ when I practice next to them in class, despite the fact that I, too, am a student.

I do my self-practice, but as we all know, self-practice discipline is not always easy to maintain. And community is an important aspect of yoga, as it is a place where people can come together and empower one another. ๐Ÿ™Œ

I started a Teachers Practice in the second half of 2022, which was one of my accomplishments. Itโ€™s small, really small, and there are usually only a few of us. ๐Ÿ˜Š

But that Thursday afternoon practice has become the highlight of our week, to get together and just practice, in this safe container, where we donโ€™t have to worry about what other people see/think of us, where we can just practice, sometimes chat about teaching, and sometimes just slack and rest. (Ha!) โœจ

This is an invitation-only practice for yoga teachers or teachers-to-be.

If you feel you need this space too for yourself, message me for details. ๐Ÿ˜Š
