THE POWER OF SEASONS AND NATURE
When in Singapore, sometimes it’s hard to feel the season. Soaking in crisp and chilly London 🇬🇧, reminds me of the power of seasons 🍁 and nature. 🍂
Today, 23rd September marks the Autumn Equinox. It marks the transition from longer days to longer nights. It marks the start of the new season, a colder, darker fall season. 🍁
I see fall as the harvest time of year. So before reflecting on our “what to do”, take time to acknowledge and honor our growth and expansion. ⭐️
💡 Think about the goals and intentions you set or planted when the year started and how those have been evolving or growing.
Harvest your fruits and find gratitude for the seeds that you have reaped and sown. And from there think about how we want to finish the last 100+ days left in the year.
💡 As today is the day of equal parts of light (day) and dark (night), it’s also a good time to reflect on our balance in life – our inward and outward energy, the art of doing and being (or non-doing).
Most of us spend a large amount of our daily lives working towards “doing stuff” and “getting things done.” But when we only operate in “doing” mode we get disconnected from our inner being.
Recognize that being mode and doing mode are both useful in different ways and at different times.
We all have the capacity to engage with the “doing”, but we need to spend more time just “being” in the present moment.
As we approach the longer and darker days, consider cultivating more awareness of the moments in life when it is in your best interest to take action versus when it is in your best interest to simply let things be as they are.
And on the mat today, instead of thinking of doing poses, take a moment to observe the balance between your yin and the yang energy, the balance between left and right side, the inspiring and energizing inhale; the letting of and releasing in the exhale; just feel, notice, and just be.
As for me, I will be crossing over time zones in the air today on my way home.
Is it auspicious or what?
See you all back in Singapore 🇸🇬.
