Recently, I have been returning to taking some weekend 𝗬𝗼𝗴𝗮 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀 and doing 3-hour practice with my teacher in the afternoons, while I “𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦” myself in longer practice and study.
It has been a long since we have had the opportunity to do a prolonged practice at the studio in the past 2 years.
And here is what I have learned:
💡 I have learned that doing 3 60 minutes classes, is different than doing a full 3-hour practice.
💡 I have learned that deep work, is more fruitful than shallow work.
💡 I have learned that the practice, ultimately is about STAYING. It’s never TOUCH AND GO.
💡 I have learned that stability, always comes before freedom.
Maybe I need to add this, maybe I need to add more.
Maybe what we need to do is to do less, but to repeat and be consistent with something.
💡 I have learned that it’s repetition and consistency that makes progress, not adding more things.
𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. ✨
If you want everything you end up being mediocre in everything. 🤷♀️
DEEP WORK over SHALLOW WORK.
MASTERY over NOVELTY.
DO LESS, but BETTER.
Thank you @yogiarun for his 10-hour Mastery of Backbend Workshop, not only it “opens my heart” AGAIN, it re-opens my mind to re-think what practice is all about.❤️
Thank you @heebs and @dagge_oh_oh for their Transformer Yoga workshop, giving me so many more ideas for using props to enhance and transform our yoga practice.
Thank you @patrickcreelman for coming to Singapore and seeing us, and have revived me both as a student and teacher of yoga.
And to all my yoga buddies, old and new, all the relationships we build upon on yoga. It is BETTER TOGETHER. 💫
If you have been going to drop-in classes, it’s time to consider taking some workshops and experience a longer, deeper practice.
I have revised some old teaching, and renewed some, and excited to bring them to you in class. 🥳
Join me in Alignment and Chair classes at Ngee Ann City and Suntec.
My Chair Workshop will return in August.
And Teachers’ Practice is coming.
Stay tuned. 😊
