YOGA TRAVEL JOURNAL

When I travel, I looked up local yoga studios before restaurants. 😂

I was thrilled to find @barquillohotyoga 160m away from my hotel, a beautiful Bikram studio that also has other styles of classes.

Past few days in Madrid 🇪🇸, I am going to say this – I GOT MY ARSE KICKED.

From classical 90 minutes Bikram sequence to Ashtanga Primary Series, or vinyasa classes. Both teachers and students are serious practitioners. The practice is strong and hmm.. strict, but the environment is warm and welcoming.

You can tell most students are regulars and have consistent practice.

You can tell the teachers have both solid practice and teaching, even though I couldn’t understand a word of Spanish.

Thank you @barquillohotyoga, for not only giving me my yoga fix in the past few days but also inspiring me to bring home some thoughts on what makes good teachings.

And after a few days.. picked up a few words..

ᴍᴀꜱ – ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴜɴᴀ ᴍᴀꜱ – ᴏɴᴇ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ʟᴀ ᴛᴏʀꜱɪᴏɴ – ᴛᴡɪꜱᴛ (ᴋᴇᴇᴘ ᴛʜɪɴᴋɪɴɢ ᴄᴏɴᴛᴏʀᴛɪᴏɴ!) ᴘᴀᴛᴀᴅᴀ – ᴋɪᴄᴋ (ᴘᴀᴛᴀᴅᴀ, ᴘᴀᴛᴀᴅᴀ, ᴘᴀᴛᴀᴅᴀ!)

Thank God Savasana is still Savasana.
