Chair Anatomy

Cora Lee

We learn about different parts of our body in yoga. But we also need to learn the different parts of the props we use! ๐Ÿ™Œ

In class even when I describe the different ways to use the block โ€“ highest height, medium height, flat, length-way, sidewayโ€ฆ it can be confusing.

As we add on the yoga chair, I thought itโ€™s beneficial to teach some โ€œChair Anatomyโ€!

Check this out! ๐Ÿ‘‡

I am running a ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ฟ ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฎ ๐—ช๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ at Pure Yoga Singapore on ๐—”๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—น ๐Ÿต & ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ.

The use of the chair in yoga was developed by Mr. B.K.S. Iyengar as a tool to deepen and improve yoga asana practice and has gained population in recent years due to the positive experience and impact it offers.

Yoga practitioners of different levels and styles find that the yoga chair helps to bring more opening and awareness to the body. ๐Ÿ˜Š

It enables a higher capacity to learn and practise challenging poses and be able to stay longer in poses for the full benefits.

The chair is also an excellent tool to enhance our daily mat yoga practice, allowing us to deepen our studies in a fun and lighthearted way. ๐Ÿ‘ˆ
